The PaperBag Project
India | This planet-positive project directly supports small vendors, such as flower and vegetable sellers across India, who struggle to adopt sustainable alternatives due to their meager profit margins. It addresses this challenge by distributing free, upcycled-from-newspaper bags to them. Known as The PaperBag Project, the initiative empowers individuals from diverse backgrounds through workshops where participants learn to create these upcycled paper bags. The bags are then collected and distributed at no cost to street vendors. This approach highlights the vital role of individual action in driving sustainability, rather than relying solely on governments, non-profits, or corporations for change.
