Taking place immediately before the Raisina Dialogue 2026 in New Delhi (by invitation only)

With 2030 approaching and most Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) still unmet, global cooperation on development requires more than incremental progress. Fragmented governance, shifting economic weights, and challenges to multilateral institutions make it increasingly urgent to rethink how international collaboration can be designed, financed, and implemented now and in a post-2030 world. The structural complementarity of G7 and BRICS, often overlooked in debates framed around competition, offers new pathways to achieve tangible global development outcomes.

As part of the GSI Project on Global Sustainability Agendas, these high-level roundtables convene policymakers, multilateral actors, researchers, and thought leaders to explore three critical dimensions of the future of sustainable development: defining mid-century development goals, breaking macroeconomic and sectoral silos, and designing financing and institutional architectures for sustainable development. Taking place immediately before the Raisina Dialogue 2026 in New Delhi, the discussions provide a unique opportunity to discuss ideas emerging from GSI’s project on Global Sustainability Agendas, and to feed insights directly into the global policy discussions on sustainable development and international cooperation.

Together with partners at leading research and policy institutions, the roundtables aim to generate concrete recommendations for bridging strategic foresight and actionable policy. Among other outputs, key takeaways will be incorporated into the upcoming Intersecting Series compendium, “The Future of Shared Development Goals? Building Foresight, Bridging Pathways,” ensuring that insights reach both national and multilateral decision-making platforms.
