The Europe-China Forum has been for years the platform to discuss the past, present and future of EU-China trade, cooperation and political relations.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of EU-China diplomatic relations, timely in a moment when the EU and China need to reassess their mutual interests to cooperate more proactively. Given the turbulence and unpredictability experienced across the world since January, China and the EU perhaps need to decide what can be shared and that there is a global and geopolitical necessity to redraw the talking points on the basis of a new EU-China strategy for the next 50 years.

Addressing critical questions on sustainable development, security and strategic partnerships aligns closely with Friends of Europe’s 10 Policy Choices for a Renewed Social Contract for Europe, which advocates for a new framework of EU policymaking with society at its heart. This year’s forum will take stock of the past half-century of diplomatic relations, reflecting on the complexity of EU-China relations, the challenges faced in the last few years and the opportunities that arise from the current geopolitical storm.

Join the debate and submit your questions to the panel discussants on Slido!

This event takes place in Brussels and is also available to a wider audience via livestream.
