Khoj: The Great Indian Treasure Hunt
Abhilash John YGC Project
Founder & Director, Khoj: The Great Indian Treasure Hunt
Abhilash John embarked on a mission to empower Indian youth, inspired by his own journey from feeling constrained to discovering his strengths. His travels across India illuminated the need to create pathways for young people from diverse backgrounds to foster a healthy society for tomorrow. As an alumnus of Kanthari, a leadership institute in Trivandrum, India, which provides comprehensive training for effectively running an NGO, Abhilash honed his concept and established Khoj (meaning ‘to Search’ in Hindi). Through Khoj, Abhilash and his team created “The Great Indian Treasure Hunt,” a unique three-month experiential learning program for Indian youth aged 18 to 28. This program encourages participants to delve into social change and environmental solutions, gain knowledge beyond their immediate reality, live resourcefully, embrace risks, collaborate in diverse teams, and boost their self-confidence, tolerance, and social skills, thereby becoming active agents of change.
