Nigeria | Abiola Oyebanjo from Nigeria is a development sociologist, social innovator, and design thinker. He is currently a PhD Researcher at the Berlin Graduate School of Global and Transregional Studies (BGTS), part of the Cluster of Excellence “Contestations of the Liberal Script.”
Abiola brings seven years of professional and consultancy experience in the development sector, having worked on projects for organizations such as the World Bank/AfDB, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Bridge International Academies, and DFID-PERL in Nigeria. He is also the Executive Director of Empowerment for Local People Foundation, a Nigerian nonprofit dedicated to supporting the mentoring, training, and funding needs of business owners in local communities. His research interests include the behavior of small firms in developing countries, informal taxation, micro-leadership, and the transnational cultural systems of educated returnees.
