Claudine Mendy

Young Global Changer 2020/2021

Senegal | Claudine Mendy is a young activist and passionate defender of human rights. Her volunteer work with Amnesty International Senegal has led to numerous training opportunities and campaigns in Senegal and Geneva with CODAP, all focused on promoting and defending human rights.

In 2015, after earning a Diploma of Advanced Studies in Political Science from Gaston Berger University of Saint-Louis, she participated in the Young Political Leaders Program of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation in Senegal. Claudine strongly believes in the potential of African youth to drive positive change for their societies, which fuels her unwavering commitment to awakening and empowering young people in Senegal.

Her professional experience includes working as a Junior Expert Consultant intern at the Africa Governance Institute. As a member of the Steering Committee that established the Young African Activist Network (created in 2019 by the Friedrich Ebert Zimbabwe / Botswana Foundation), Claudine Mendy currently serves as the Regional Manager of the Women’s Voice and Leadership Project at the Center for International Studies and Cooperation (CECI) of Canada in Senegal.
