Franziska Heine

Franziska Heine studied Media Design in Weimar and began her career in research before moving into the digital economy, including roles at eBay, Microsoft and Nokia. She joined Wikimedia Deutschland in 2017 as Head of Software Development, leading interdisciplinary teams on key projects such as Wikidata. She has co-led Wikimedia Germany since 2022 and serves as its sole CEO since April 2025, shaping its mission to advance open knowledge and digital infrastructure for the public good.
