Infectious Diseases Department, Istituto Superiore di Sanità – Villa works at Italian National Institute of Health (ISS), as Researcher in charge and coordinates human national surveillance of Enterobacteria and she has institutional positions at the ECDC. She has a broad expertise in genome sequencing for clinical microbiology to elucidate mechanisms of AMR transmission via different mobile genetic elements (resistome and mobilome) and to trace the emergence of high-risk and new clone, useful in surveillance studies.
