Michael Boampong

Ghana | Dr. Michael Boampong is a lecturer at the University of London (Birkbeck College) and an international development policy consultant. He recently completed a four-year research project examining the impact of the 2008 financial crisis on young people’s daily lives within Ghanaian transnational households. His research focuses on economic change, young people as social actors, and life course. Notably, he authored the United Nations’ flagship publication, Youth and Migration (2013), and is currently assisting the Government of Ghana in reviewing its National Youth Policy.
