Dr Michael Brüntrup studied agricultural sciences at the Technical University of Munich/Weihenstephan and earned his doctorate at the University of Stuttgart-Hohenheim. After several years as a freelance expert, he is working at the German Development Institute / Deutsches Institut für Entwicklungspolitik (DIE) since 2003. His fields of expertise include agricultural development, food security and rural development as well as drought and land degradation. His geographical focus is sub-Saharan Africa.
