Paul Grainger

Co-Director and Enterprise Lead, Centre for Education and Work, UCL

Paul was Principal of a college in Liverpool, then Co-Director of the Centre for Education and Work, UCL. He retired in 2020 but retains an honorary post. He carries out research and dissemination on formally assessed and post-compulsory education. He has wide knowledge of the responses of institutions and professionals to policy change in the TVET sector. Currently, he is examining successful, inclusive regional skills systems, patterns of entry into the workforce, and the importance of skills strategies for regional regeneration. He investigates ‘sticky places’ in developing high-skill systems.  Paul has been a member of the G20 Task Force on the Future of Work and Education for the Digital age and was Co-Chair of the T20 Task Force 6 on Economy, Education, and Employment. He is a Senior Policy Analyst for the Global Foundation for Cyber Studies and Research
