Pier Luigi Lopalco

Department of Translational Research on New Technologies in Medicine and Surgery, University of Pisa – Luigi Lopalco, MD, Full Professor of Hygiene and Preventive Medicine at the University of Salento (Italy). He started his academic career in 1992. Between 2005 and 2015 he joined the ECDC, where has been Head of the Vaccine Preventable Disease Programme. Since October 2015 he took back his position in the Italian University. He is currently taking a political appointment as Councillor of Health of the Puglia Region. He is co-author of more than 190 scientific articles in peer reviewed journals.
