From the shores of Africa, into the very core of American culture and to the heart of Europe, the problem of ‘gender-based violence’ has woven itself into our global narratives. Gender-based violence exists and is perpetuated in varying degrees and dimensions.

Women contribute to the economy and to society; however, their contributions are not fully recognized. One reason is due to a lack of accurate measuring. Without appropriate data, women’s contributions become invisible, making it difficult for policy to address gender gaps and promote women’s rights. This was the topic of the T20 Task Force panel, “Promoting Women’s Economic Empowerment: Strengthening Measurement to Deepen Impact.”

The annual Global Solutions Summit brings together researchers, academics, policymakers and thought-leaders from inter-sectoral backgrounds to challenge today’s paradigms and discuss future collective action.
