Mahmoud is a working student in the Communications Department at the Global Solutions Initiative. He began his undergraduate studies at Erasmus University Rotterdam, and now holds a bachelor’s degree in media studies and linguistics from Central Connecticut State University. He is currently completing a master’s degree in digital journalism at HMKW in Berlin.

After completing his undergraduate studies in the United States, Mahmoud moved back to Cairo, where he grew up, and worked for Unilever as an account executive and creative coordinator for the company’s in-house creative studio. More recently, he worked as a social media manager for Alfred-Wegener-Institut based in Bremerhaven where he oversaw one of their social media channels.
