Rethinking Multilateralism and Global Governance – Session 4

With  the African Union’s invitation to join as a permanent member of the G20, African states have now gained a voice in one of the most influential multilateral bodies. Framed as a sign of good will from the G20, many speculate how this will rebalance international power dynamics. Whether this move will have a real influence on Africa’s voice in the multilateral stage is yet to be discovered. The session will begin with introductory remarks by Fonteh Akum, Executive Director of the Institute for Security Studies, followed by a moderated discussion among participants.
