Global Solutions Summit 2022 is now available online. Watch the recordings and dive into working groups discussing policy recommendations for this year’s Indonesian G20 and German G7 presidency. High-ranking representatives of the German G7 and Indonesian G20 presidencies, and from politics, science, business, and civil society, discussed joint approaches to the most important global challenges. Contributions were made, among others, by Chancellor Scholz and Federal Ministers Lindner, Habeck, Schulze, and Lemke, as well as by several Indonesian ministers, together with participants from more than 140 countries.
The policy recommendations discussed in the Think7 and T20 Indonesia task force sessions will be presented in the final communiqués, which are to be adopted by G7 leaders at the G7 Summit in Elmau in June and by G20 leaders at the G20 Summit in Bali in November. Together with representatives from the German and Indonesian governments, Global Solutions Summit served as a bridge for G20 and G7 for the first time.
Various think tanks, academia, research, business, and civil society representatives discussed the solutions to the most pressing challenges and contributed to the goal of the Global Solutions Summit to improve global governance for the common good. The discussions at the Summit highlighted vital issues such as the pandemic, public health, climate change, the war in Ukraine, and the future of multilateralism. In the spirit of recoupling economic progress with social prosperity and environmental sustainability, the theme of this year’s Global Solutions Summit was “Listen to the world: Promote social well-being within planetary boundaries.”
