Organizational news: Christian Kastrop joins GSI as new partner

Today (May 11, 2023), the economist Christian Kastrop joined the leadership team of the Global Solutions Initiative as a partner. Kastrop now joins the two partners Dennis J. Snower, President and Founder, and Secretary General Markus Engels. Currently a GSI Fellow, Christian is Program Chair at The New Institute, Professor for Public Finance at the Free University Berlin, and Fellow at the Hertie School, Berlin. He previously served as a State Secretary for Digital Society and Consumer Policy in the German Federal Ministry of Justice and Consumer Protection, has held leadership roles at the OECD and Bertelsmann Stiftung, and worked for the ECOFIN Ministers Council and the Eurogroup in Brussels.

Snower praised the development: “Today marks a historic day for the Global Solutions Initiative. Christian’s vast network and wealth of experience in policy and finance will greatly strengthen the organization. On the eve of the seventh Global Solutions Summit, we will move forward with renewed vigor and focus on our mission to recouple economic progress with social and environmental prosperity.
