Thomas Schmid

CV

Thomas has been Chief Executive of the Bavarian Construction Industry Association since 2014. He was First Mayor of Garmisch-Partenkirchen from 2002 to May 2014. Before that, he worked in the Foreign Service of the Federal Republic of Germany for over a decade, most recently as Head of the Legal and Consular Section of the German Embassy in Ottawa. Thomas studied political science at the University of Munich. This was followed by postgraduate studies at the College of Europe in Bruges, Belgium, from which he graduated with a Master of European Studies
